What worries me most is that the government said nothing would happen.
I actually plan to spend the day online convincing people the world is endind and this is all just a dream or something crazy like that :3 might as well have some fun just in case the world does end! I would hate for my last day on earth to be a bore.
The world doesn't end in 2012. How do I know? Marty McFly travelled to the year 2015. Plus, the next two parts of The Hobbit come out next year and the year after. Ain't no way I'm dyin' without seeing those movies. And the next Avengers movies. I'll personally hold the world together with duct tape and some string if I have to to see those movies.
The world won't end—this rock we're living on will still be there afterward. That being said, I do believe something BIG will happen. The coincidence of all these events and cosmic cycles' end/start points is just too significant to ignore. I'll admit, I'm pretty keen on the New Age belief that humanity will ascend to a higher state of collective consciousness.
What if the universe ceases to exist, yet at the smae time an identical one is born in exactly the same place. The only sign will be that we're all suddenly right handed when in the previous universe we were left handed, but our memories will change and thus we will never notice. XD

The only thing I'm concerned about is how people will react to an imagined threat. Are people going to suicide? Take others with them? Take unhealthy risks?
But there seems to be less fuss over it than when that random guy said it was the end of the world/coming of christ thing earlier this year. I remember lots of sad stories about gullible old people spending money on awareness and thinking it's the end of the track
Nothing's going to happen. If a rogue planet was going to crash into the Earth in a week, we would be able to see it with our naked eyes. The planets aligning with the centre of the galaxy is not an unusual event. As for getting hit by an asteroid, I shall quote my astronomy teacher: "There's more chance of getting mugged by a midget on a tricycle."
So yeah. Anyone who truly believes this crap needs to retake Astronomy 101.
I don't believe the world will end next week, but I am worried that someone stupid will set off a few bombs or do something very stupid in either a spiteful way or a "fuck it all" way. You see, I go home on the 21st and I have to travel across the entire width of London on public transport. So I am a little worried for my safety...
Worried, but not because of the stupid Mayan calender- but because some idiots will be freaking out and people riot and commit crime and murder and are just generally idiotic when they freak out- thus i will probably be staying home on the day and liveblog "the apocalypse" on tumblr.
I'm from Mexico, and I I had made my own researches and got many friends who know about this. It's clear how Hollywood, in conjuction with the exaggerated people and the ones who want to take advantage of the situation, has amde a great mess with all of this. In december 21st it's supposed to be the end of a cycle, not the end of the world. Something may happen, maybe not, who knows? All I know is that I'm not very worried about it at least.
No. I'm not scared of death. If you die, then you die, unless you're lucky. So I don't care if the world ends or not. Just one thing... I would love to see my mom one last time before the world ends...
I don't think the world is going to end, but I'm afraid of how many people will take this seriously by either killing themselves or spending all of their money of junk... I'm also going to make sure I have a video camera with me at all times in case someone does something dumb.
