Get the Deluxe if you're planning to play with friends often or need alot of memory space. Otherwise, get the Basic. And wait until the price drops to get Nintendoland if you get the Basic, it's currently retailing at 60$ in the United States.
I suppose I'll say what I say to most of my customers: You'll end up needing an external HD later, might as well save some bucks... and forego Nintendoland unless you REALLY like minigames, 'cause that's all it is. A couple good ones, but not enough to make it worth what you pay. Plus, the black model shows fingerprints like a futhermucker...
Don't get Nintendoland, it's stupid. As far as the memory capacity goes, if you're like me and you tend to play a small core group of games, like five or less, you won't need the 32GB version. There was a large download in order to play Wii games but I only play four core games at the moment and I still have space left. Keep in mind, however, that all your original Wii games also save to the system memory. The 8GB version has an expansion slot for an external memory if you need that extra memory space. Save the money for the good games. If you're a hardcore gamer however, meaning more than five games with frequency, than you might need the larger version.
I don't like that new wii u/we u/ we you/ weeeee uuuuu/ weeeee yyooouuuuu. Look at that 4 ways of saying it and and there's only one way to say it if you want to screw the name up. Where did they come up with that weird name.
Don't know, very disappointed by this console, I was expected a lot more... I don't know if it's just me but I don't understand why all the games are not in 1080p natively for a console released in 2012... I know that an external HD can be add but seriously the internal memory for both version is so ... That means that you have to buy an external HD that increase the price of the console again... I will wait some time to see what Sony and Microsoft will propose. I'm not especailly attached to Nintendo games. I only do regret that Bayonetta 2 and Rayman legends are not planned on PS3... For the moment I will stick to my PC (that had still good specs) and my PS3 for gaming that are more than enough for the moment.
[link] This is where I've been getting all my information, both good and bad. Real life user reviews, plus links to plenty of online reviews. There's stories of people having to send the whole system back to Nintendo, stories of little bugs and fixes having to call the hotline about, other reviews about it being the best system since the 360 was released. Me personally? I think I'll wait until June, when my wife and I have our birthday. Everything should be sorted out by then, plus more games should be out and we could probably afford GameFly.
The 32 gig is the best option especially if you don't have the cash for an external hard drive for it. There's a 5 gig update you need to download in order to get all of the features of the Wii U so if you have the 8 gig version that's over half of your space gone right there. Plus the black one come with a lot of extra stuff so it's worth the extra cash anyway.
Ah, just so you know, before Christmas they're coming out with an External HD so that even if you buy the white one now, you'll be able to have a SHITTON of extra memory that even the black one doesn't have right now, for about 80 bucks. So since there aren't a lot of games out right now for you to take up a shit ton of memory, this might be an option for you.
What? Seriously? Wait, that's not really fair. They should just make ours a bit more and then cheapen the cost of the other ones... D: Maybe they're just trying to compete with the game market in America and it's just harder...? I don't know. xD I don't follow these types of politics. I don't follow any politics, actually
I'd say the cheaper white one. Save that extra money for some games, perhaps a hard drive like at least one dude said. Although Nintendoland does sound fun...I love how it says 1-5 players. The Wii U is the first home console to do that, right? Haha, take that Sony and Microsoft... Sony: "Ooh, I knew I should've thought of that sooner..." Microsoft: "I DID think of it! But then that woman I've been dating turned out to be Nintendo's secretary and stole the memo..."
white and get a 1TB external hardrive, plug it in to the usb port of your wii u system leave them both underneath your television
suddenly you have a white wii u with 1000gb, without nintendoland save the money you spend from getting the black one with nintendoland and buy some fucking decent games, nintendoland is shit, don't waste your money get zombieu instead with the few hundreds $ you saved
Damn I got mine for $350 (370 including Super Mario U) but yes get the black Wii U because it's pointless to get the white one, and a heads up when(if) you get the Wii U, it's going to send you to an automatic update (for took about 2 hours) and there's going to be a an updates for any software you boot up on the Wii U but that only takes about 2-5 minutes.
Buying the white one is not reccomandable. It's not just the bigger harddrive or Nintendoland or the stands that you have to consider, but also the politics on Nintendo Network. If you buy the premium version, you get Nintendo Network Premium for one year, meaning 10% off of any DLC you buy. So basically, for 80 Aus Dollar more, you don't only get a bigger harddrive and a few stands, you also get a full-priced-game (because Nintendoland seems to be more then Nintendo Sports for the Wii back then - it's still a matter of taste though) and 10% off of all Buyable Content of the Net (for one year). To my knowledge, this inlcudes the Virtual Consoles. And with all the lineup games that comes out, there will be a lot of DLC, some of them might really worth it. I think that's a pretty good deal honestly.
I bought a black Wii U on launch, I gotta say that for what it is the console is very fun. The console isn't for everyone and you may not want it quite yet. I love Mario games, so New Super Mario U and Nintendoland were great first titles.
I think if you want to spend less money though, get the white Wii U since the black Wii U's expansion of stuff isn't REALLY that important. The extra game was nice and the holders and crap was nice. But memory, just expand it with an SD card, don't let the black Wii U sucker you into it just because of the memory.
I played a wii U about a month ago and I have to say it was very disappointing. I remember when Nintendo first announced it they said it was going to be primarily aimed towards the "hardcore" Nintendo fans that were let down by the wii and then they come out with another cheap, family based, last generation console. It's getting harder and harder to stay a Nintendo fan
You should use the power of imagination. I just tried the Wii U today and it was a total disappointment. The only thing good that could come of it would be a Pokemon game with the controller as your Pokedex. If you really want it..wait til it comes out and prices have gone down. I can guarantee that many people will buy it, kids will play with it for a couple months, then it won't be touched at all.
