I get questioned about my bloodline sometimes. Especially since I live in Australia, so people just assume that I am not Australian, when people asks me my nationality I would be like 'Im Australian' and they would be like 'No, where are you REALLY FROM?'. So racist assuming that I wasn't born here, but they are right because I wasn't born in Australia LOL. I was actually born in Hong Kong, so I guess 'Chinese' would be the correct answer (Although Hong Kong people don't really like to be associated with China, more political stories in the future! especially the current politics). But actually to your surprise, I am not 100% asian either, in fact 1/16th of me is Chilean, its a bit washed out I know but I think it might still be interesting to talk about a little bit.

It is my great great grandpa from my mum's side that is Chilean if you are wondering. We are not too sure about the full story but we speculate it has somethig to do with the Chinese going over to south america for the gold rush, but all we know is that my great grandpa is half chilean half chinese and he married my great grandmother in Hong Kong. My great grandmother is still alive actually, she is having her 100th birthday in a few months time if you could believe that! So I guess I COULD ask her to find out more about the mystery of our bloodline.

I heard some kinda sad stories about my great grandpa though, apparently he didn't like that he was mixed blood, I guess people back then were more racist. They would mock my great grandpa for being a 'Non pure blood' and other racist terms because he had darker skin, to the point that my Great Grandpa would never wear an english suit or admit he is mixed race, he would always dress himself in the traditional Chinese gown, apparently the ONLY time he wore a suit was when he attended my Grandpa's wedding. Im pretty sure my grandpa were very impressed by that, to stand up for who you are.

Its weird sometimes when I see or hear about South America I would feel a connection with them, not in a way like I could feel my people there or anything but just think to myself that. But to be honest, we are all one anyway. *cue music for 'We are the World' please* There's no need to say we are this people or that people from this part of the world or from that part of the world, we all just live in one world! Unless we are playing soccer, then I would say I am South American. :iconmessiplz:

Somtimes when I look into the mirror, I see glimps of non asian in me, somtimes I think I look kinda caucasian to be honest! Perhaps it has something to do with my 1/16th Chilean blood? Or perhaps I am just a delusional banana :iconbananasplz: (Yellow on the outside and white on the inside).

I would like to end this sermon with a video that I think is kinda funny. About race and ignorant people.

Last year, I was having some small talk with some girls in one of my classes. The first girl said she was part white and part African American. The other girl said that she was half white and half Asian, and then they asked me what nationalities I was.
I replied with "Uhh...I'm just white" and the first girl laughed so hard it silenced the entire room. Not in a mean way, just at the confused way I said it. I could've sworn she started crying.
I know my dad's family tree is all white and so is my mom's. But I don't know as much about my mom's side, so if there's any mixing it's probably on my mom's side.
