Ry: Ex-superhero Harvey T. Birdman is an attorney working at a law firm owned by his one eyed boss Phil Ken Sebben. The series features many cartoon stars from 1960s/70s Hanna-Barbera cartoon series. The series lasted 39 episodes ending in the year 2007, I have always hoped for a return of Harvey Birdman as the series was smart, funny and original. Give the series a go if you haven't seen it before. I give Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law a 5/5 Golden Pies.

The Llama Critic: ...what? I thought we're gonna talk about the new Oscar nominated movie Birdman: The Virtue of Ignorance starring Michael Keaton.

Ry: Oh are we? Alright we can talk about that too.

The Llama Critic: Ok... So! Birdman: The Virtue of Ignorance, set in New York, it tells a story of an actor who wants to live down his fame in a series of superhero films by staging an adaptation of a Raymond Carver short story on the Broadway stage. What makes Birdman fantastic is the way the director told the story, most of the film is filmed in a 'supposed' one shot take, with characters coming in and out of frames to guide the story along, I have never seen a movie done this way before, it is stylish and I personally think there's a 'reason' for it too. And thats another thing about Birdman, without spoiling too much, its one of those movies that can be interpreted differently for everyone. There's a lot of good things to say about this movie, its funny, its a clever film and the performance from all the actors are fantastic.

Ry: I enjoyed it too, I gota admit it did take a little while to get INTO the film and enjoy it for what it was, because it was so different, I was a little bit confused in the beginning, I was trying to figure out what kind of movie this was, you kinda gota adjust your mindset to the movie's universe before you can enjoy what the movie is trying to give you. And in the beginning I found it hard to figure it out, you know what I mean? It felt like I was walking into a conversation between a group of people and you are trying to figure out what they are talking about.

The Llama Critic: Yea so was I, but you slowly start to understand, and when you are in their universe, it is very enjoyable.

Ry: Yeah, and I really loved it! I love movies that makes you think afterwards, I rewatched certain scenes afterwards just to figure out something.

The Llama Critic: And were you satisfied with what you found out?

Ry: I was... And it made me depressed haha.. however it made me appreciate the movie even more, but yes after rewatching certain bits, I viewed the entire ending differently. There were also jokes that I missed out the first time, Rewatching it made the whole experience even better! I do apologize for not saying what these details are, because it will spoil it for everyone.

The Llama Critic: Yeah, thats the thing about this movie. Its a bit hard to sell this movie to people without risking spoiling it for them.

Ry: And what you DO tell people, it doesn't sound very interesting. Its not like its superhero film where you can go 'OH there's explosion and giant bird creatures and superheroes fighting and buildings getting destroyed! Therefore go watch the movie!' you know? There's not even a villain in the movie.

The Llama Critic: Or maybe... the biggest villain is himself!

Ry: OHHHH haha I see what you are trying to say.

The Llama Critic: So what do you give the movie out of 5 Golden Pies?

Ry: You know what? Its hard to find anything bad to say about this movie, it is very fresh and unlike anything I have ever seen. I am gonna give it a 5.

The Llama Critic: Wow a first 5! Mmm something bad to say about the movie... I did find a tiny little hiccup, its the reviewer character who said that she would give the play a bad review even without watching it. I think thats a bit unrealistic? I can't imagine reviewers being like this, you can get fired for that.

Ry: Maybe she's just that one a-hole who has to ruin it for everybody.

The Llama Critic: Yeah maybe. I guess I can let that slip because the overall was that good. I am also giving it a 5. And don't expect it to be a Superhero movie either, because its not.

Ry: :icongoldenpieplz::icongoldenpieplz::icongoldenpieplz::icongoldenpieplz::icongoldenpieplz:
The Llama Critic: :icongoldenpieplz::icongoldenpieplz::icongoldenpieplz::icongoldenpieplz::icongoldenpieplz:

Which Raymond Carver short story was he putting on? Because if it was "Popular Mechanics", yeah I could see that as career-ruining XD I had to read that for a class, and then our assignment was to write the NEXT part of the story! O-O0 My teacher (who, for some background into her preferences, LOVED Donnie Darko while I HATED it) thought that MY piece was disturbed. ^^0
