We don't get a lot of coverage on Hurricane Sandy here in Australia, like.. we do, but its not as in depth as it should be in my opinion. But I was just reading about it today after talking to TheOkkwardTurtle who unfortunately lived in areas where Sandy came by. But the brave Okky went out into the storm to help peeps in need, the poor boy even got bruises and cuts from this whole deal. I didn't realise the storm was THAT bad, with over 100 deaths now omg.

This may sound weird but just a few practical survival tips from Ry, well these are just things I heard but sounds legit.. kinda. I've never actually been in a disaster situation before, well besides from that one time when I broke up with my ex (OH SNAP!) but yeah Um here goes, remember how people say when there is an earthquake you should hide under a table, apparently thats not true anymore, you should actually hide between two strong cupboard/wardrobe, so if the ceiling collapse then you got two strong structure to protect your, compare that with the weak table legs.. ok what else? Oh yes if you are cold and has no clothing, a great way to keep warm is to use cling wrap! No Im not busting your balls, if you happen to have cling wrap and stuff, wrap it around your body (In ways that you can move obviously), cling wrap is a great way to keep your body warm apparently. And of course, get lots of glow sticks, both to see where you are as well as letting people know where you are. And instead of calling to see if your friends and family are ok, text instead, as it uses less battery and trust me in these situation you wanna make sure you have enough batteries in your phone, another helpful tip to save batteries is to lower the brightness on your screen, l almost always have mine at lowest brightness. If you have more survival tips to help our fellow brothers and sister, please suggest them below.

But yeah my heart goes out to you all :'U Protect yourself and others, if you can, GET OUT THERE and help others! People and animals alike!
That Sandy is one messed up bitch! Stay strong my friends, DON'T LET HER WIN!

Well for warmth we stayed upstairs covered in more than three blankets each and tryed to stay in one room to keep the heat in, but the room had windows which just made it colder. We stayed in our house for over a week in Sandy, I live 2 blocks from the beach o the Jersey Shore with no heat, water or gas, plus the house and garage flooded around 3 feet up. And my puppy was freaking out, I fee so bad.

what bothers me most is wen I went to school so many people were saying pretty much "pity me, I have no power, but still a house" Look people not trying to get pity but suck it up, I don't hav a house, power, water and my family has medical issues (ie. cancer, type1 diabetes, stroke, etc.) so shut the f*** up and quite complaining. SHEEESSH, I'm living through it, quite complaining about loosing your Juicy Couture this and Prada that and be happy with what you have
